I’ve been a photographer since I was sixteen, which is a hell of a long time ago.
I took a GCSE in photography to bump up my hours at sixth form college (so that they got more funding for me) and fell in love. I went on to do A level Photography, a BA in Photographic and Digital Arts (straddling the transition from analogue to digital – we used to shoot on film and scan the images in to edit them on Photoshop 2. We also made interactive DVD ROMS because they were the future, alongside editing cine film by slicing it with a razor and taping in together) and then an MA in Photography (I got a distinction for producing a book and installation about the use of space in the city).
I started working freelance as a photographer when I was eighteen, firstly doing fashion photography (including fetish fashion at Torture Garden) and photographing punk bands (and dodging flying pints of urine when photographing live shows). During and after uni I worked in photo libraries, retouching musicians and celebrities, then as a studio assistant at a busy fashion and celebrity studio. I then started teaching photography (got my DTTLS teaching qualification) and working as a photography technician.

I set up my own business a couple of years after finishing uni. I photographed weddings for ten years, then did ten years of family photography and have specialised in branding photography since 2020.
I was born in London and have lived here all my life. I live with my husband and two children in West Norwood. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was forty-five.
When I’m not taking photos you can find me outdoor swimming, running, writing (working on a novel and a memoir), spending time in nature, listening to loud music, reading or watching post-apocalyptic fiction and thinking about (or getting) tattoos.
